On Friday night, Weymouth saw a blast from the past as the Nostalgia back to the 90’s rave was held, with the event being a huge success, selling out completely and raising an impressive £4,755,00 towards Weymouth Carnival and Air 107.2. The event was a new addition to Weymouth and was well-received by attendees, who expressed their excitement at experiencing something new to the area.

This event was a significant achievement for the organisers and the community. The funds raised will go towards supporting two important organisations in Weymouth, namely the Weymouth Carnival and Air 107.2. Weymouth Carnival is a highlight of the summer calendar, attracting thousands of visitors and locals alike, while Air 107.2 is a community radio station that provides news and information for the area. Both organisations play an essential role in the community, and the funds raised will go a long way in supporting their efforts.

This event was not the first of its kind in Weymouth, as a similar event was hosted back in 2009. The event back then raised over £2,000 to support the Weldmar appeal of £60,000. However, the Nostalgia back to the 90’s rave was on a much larger scale, with more attendees, more funds raised, and a broader impact on the community.

The success of the event can be attributed to the hard work of the organisers and the enthusiasm of the attendees. The event brought a new and exciting experience to Weymouth, which was appreciated by the attendees. The event was a complete sell-out, which demonstrates the desire for such events in the area.

The positive feedback from attendees shows that the event was well-received by the community. Attendees expressed their excitement at experiencing something new to Weymouth and enjoying the music of the 90s. The event’s success also highlights the potential for future events of this kind in Weymouth.

In conclusion, the Nostalgia back to the 90’s rave was a successful event that raised a significant amount of funds towards important causes in Weymouth. The success of the event shows that there is an appetite for such events in the area, and the funds raised will go a long way in supporting the Weymouth Carnival and Air 107.2. The event was a fantastic addition to the community, bringing something new and exciting to the area, and was appreciated by attendees.

Richard Talmage, Finance Director and Station Engineer for Air 107.2 said: ” “People will remember the famous ‘Pavvy Raves’ held throughout the 1990s in the Pavilion Ocean Room which was a big part of the 90s dance culture at that time.

“It was a privilege to be involved with events back then and once again a privilege to have the Pavilion on board to host these events in the same room where the original raves started over 30 years ago.”

Organisers say the goal of the event is to bring people together for a night of enjoyment and togetherness.

Mr Talmage said:

“Having Nostalgia as a fundraising non-profit event will ensure that the money raised goes back to serve the community.”

Kallum Gethins, Director & Chairman for Weymouth Carnival, expressed his delight at the success of the Nostalgia back to the 90’s rave event, saying, “We are thrilled with the amount of money raised for the Weymouth Carnival and Air 107.2. The success of this event is a testament to the hard work of the organisers and volunteers involved in the support of the community. It is heartening to see such enthusiasm for new and exciting events in Weymouth, and we are grateful for the funds raised, which will go a long way in supporting our efforts. We hope that this event will be the first of many exciting events in Weymouth in the future.”
